On March 1st 1922 Jérôme Soetaert created a sole proprietorship. Activities were mainly focused on coastal defence works and bank protection works of the adjacent rivers and canals during the initial years.
In 1948 the sole proprietorship had been incorporated as a limited liability company under the name of „Algemene Ondernemingen Soetaert“. The managing directors were the three sons of Jérôme Soetaert, that is Julien, Edmond and Hilaire.
Halfway through the 1970s the management of the company was taken over by Eduard (Julien’s son), Joseph (Edmond’s son), Jérôme (Hilaire’s son) and Noël (Julien’s son).
Under their management, the piling operations, that up to this point had only been executed for their own projects were further developed. Further developing this area of expertise ensured that the company could build up an exceptionally strong reputation as a piling company in Flanders, Wallonia, Luxemburg, the Netherlands and France.
Peter Caset has been in charge of the daily management since the start of 2003. The objective of the young management team is to retain and further develop the company as, on the one hand, a highly qualified hydraulic engineering company, and, on the other hand, as a well-established piling contractor catering for all your piling needs.
Special foundation installation techniques (such as soil mixing) have also been added to the range of services offered since 2006. These techniques and also the piling works are the responsibility of the business unit SOILTECH, soil & piling contractors.
All our works are realised by highly skilled people and conform to the general safety regulations of the SCC** system.
Certification to ISO 9001 was achieved at the end of 2006.
